In the fifth, your ass goes down. Say it.

Glove tap to Kukla for pointing out the following:

Vancouver can clinch the Northwest Division tonight:
* If they beat Los Angeles and Minnesota and Calgary get one or no points in their games
or
* If they get one point against Los Angeles and Minnesota and Calgary both get no points in their games.

I wasn't aware it was that close. With the winning streaks both the Canucks and Wild have been on, I figured it would likely come down to the final two games to get a division champ. Then again, I don't do math so that would explain a lot.

At any rate, the Canucks should get past the Kings tonight; we clinched against them so why not seal up the division title too? May I add that it's a complete crying shame Cloutier isn't around to be on the losing end of either last week's game or, presumably, tonights'? It's the stuff dreams are made of kids.

Calgary's going to run head first into a determined Colorado squad playing for Sakic's life so it's possible an OT loss could occur. The Wild, however, take on the Oilers and that's a team that's more likely to stumble onto a cold fusion reaction rather then win an ice hockey game.

So, no, the Canucks won't clinch tonight. They'll have to wait until Thursday. But enjoy looking at Crow one final time. Here's hoping Cowan scores, the bras come off and a few land square on his head. C'mon, even he'd have to smile at that.

One more thing: Bieksa tracks down Dustin Brown and "beeskas" him. Don't ask what it is; I reckon it's similar to what Marsellus says in Pulp Fiction: "...go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'm gonna get medieval on your ass."

Well, the Canucks win, and no surprise they should have won, they just like to go at it, the hard way. I was alittle worried there for a while, but they came out of it nicely!

unfortunately minnesota won tonite, so its down to us again, one more win and we clinch the division!

We win or they lose, one way or another. It's looking more and more like the Sharks or Dallas in the first round; I pray it's the Sharks. The idea of watching Dallas for more then four games is insanely boring to me.

I think we need one more point to clinch the division. Can't remember the source right now, but yeah.

Yeah, the canucks.com recap this morning said we need a single point in the rest of our games to get it. Or the Wild need to lose any of theirs, but they play the Oil again and the Blues on sunday. Stupid Oilers...
